Forum Nokia Champion Reward

Two days ago, on the 9th of February, 2005, Nokia announced the creation of Forum Nokia Champion recognition and reward program and I have been named a founding member of Forum Nokia champions "as one of the outstanding talents in our community". It is great to know that Forum Nokia cares about the people who care about the success of Nokia technologies. There are 50 champions in the world and I am proud to belong to the same group of people as Eric Bustarret, the creator of the famous newlc.com. Unfortunately, I have little information on what the other champions do, where they work and what their areas of interest are. I wonder if there is a chance for other champions to read this blog and leave their comments here.

As stated in my welcome letter:

Recognizing your performance excellence and loyalty to the Forum Nokia community, we are honored to offer..

As you see, it gives me a kind'a official proof of loyalty to Nokia. Therefore whatever things I am writing about Nokia, it is guaranteed to be for the better and for the health of Nokia.
Of course, I am kidding a bit, and I don't have any official loyalty certificate. Nevertheless, it is much more likely that the compliments, complains and suggestions will easier make their way to Nokia ears faster via the site known to be loyal and trusted space. So if you have something you would like to say to Nokia, but don't know how to do it, just create and account and post.

What do you, guys, think about the whole program idea? Is this kind of rewards helpful to Nokia and developers? Is there a need for bigger third-parties support or is the current level of company support sufficient? What would you change if you had the authority?

Nice to know the profile of

Nice to know the profile of other Forum Nokia Champion. I am one of the founding member too. You can find my profile at http://www.antonypranata.com/.

Forum Nokia also has setup a web site (http://forum.nokia.com/forumnokiachampion) that is supposed to display the profile for each member. Unfortunately most of them are not available yet (including mine). Yeah, I am still thinking what to write there... :)

Warm welcomes, Christian

Warm welcomes, Christian Ryan!
Nice to see you, here.

Unfortunately I am not going to visit US for the Forum Champion Day, actually I am not visiting it even in a city I live. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) my company provides even better internal courses. I hope you'll meet some other champions in California. It would be cool if somebody could take a group photo. We could then publish it here or wherever the photo owner likes, but online! :)

As for the online place, of course real work is more valuable, than any words. In case you'd like to try having an online place, you can register here and post the code example or ideas [to be discussed] to your own blog like mine.
Actually this whole site has been started, because I was tired to copy-paste the same code-snippets to various discussion boards and decided to get a centralized place for them :)

Another FNChampion

Hi! Here is another Forum Nokia Champion, from Argentina (one of the few from spanish-world). I don't work too much with Symbian yet. My expertise area are Java ME, I wrote some books and I'm a professor in this area. I have many commercial products deveoped, including a multiplayer platform for GPRS.

I'll be in Forum Nokia Champion Day, it's a shame you can't go being in the same city. Perhaps we can organize another meeting (dinner perhaps) the day after or before the FNC Day for the people staying a few days more in the city.

Nice to meet you

Nice to meet you, Firt!

Dinner or beer meeting sounds like a great idea.. unfortunately US is too far from me. Give me a note if someday you'll be visiting Finland or Ukraine, I spend most of my time in these two countries.

About the Forum Nokia Champion Day. It would be cool if some participants could make photos and send them or links to them to me. I could publish the photos here.
